Which shade of lipstick would look good on a black person?

pink or redWhich shade of lipstick would look good on a black person?
RED, PINK MAKE THE LIPS LOOK FADEDWhich shade of lipstick would look good on a black person?
neither. i think the best is ome incolor lipgloss or a neutral shade of lipgloss.........see lil' kim
Yeah I'd say pink too. Mostly because I am a huge pink fan. It is my absolute FAV color!

But I do think light shades would look good on a black person. be it a light red, light pink, beige, ect.
IT DEPENDS ON THE SHADE OF THE COLOR AND HOW DARK THE PERSON IS
Hi!! A lot depends on the look that you want achieve. If you want a more neutral look, something like a Gingerbread, but if you want to go more dramatic, Magenta or Black Cherry. If you want to contact me I would be more than happy to send you some free samples =)
Most likely a peachy or berry color, depending on skin tone and the look you are going for -- those are more flattering to darker skin.
The question is too vague. Everyone has different shades of skin regardless of racial ancestry.

If your best feature is your eyes then play them up and use a dab of gloss on your lips if anything at all.

If your lips are your best feature, then play down the eyes and by all means use color on your lips! But remember, if your teeth could use some dental work, or they are discolored from smoking or medicine, then think twice about wearing lipstick because it will call attention to your teeth.

If your skin is very dark then berry shades are very pretty next to dark skin. If your skin is lighter then you can go with almost any color unless you have yellow undertones and then you would want to stay away from anything with a blue or purple undertone.

If you want, pickup some really cheap colors at a department store and just experiment. You might even try your closest Avon representative and tell her you would like some free lipstick samples to help you decide what colors look best one you. Sometimes two colors mixed together work well, but you have to try them to see for yourself.

Have fun making your lips kiss-a-lushous!
This is a pretty vague question because you know us black people come in all different shades. If you have a lighter complexion then you would want to go with something a little darker in shade. Earth tones are also good for the lighter skin complextion, or a clearly tinted pink or red with some gloss in it with shimmering sparkles. For the darker complexion it's nice to wear a clear gloss that shimmers, I love the way this looks on darker sista's. You can wear the lighter shades of pink or red with the darker complexions because the contrast is more intense with dark skin.
red, fashion fair and iman have the best lipsticks for colored women
a dark berry or a brick red
red
Neither! Use a neutral color
pink if you're lighter-red if you're darker-but purples and plums look FANTASTIC on black skin-take a look at oprahs makeup sometime-usually in purples and she always looks classy and stunning
it really depends on the shade of your skin and the effect you're looking for! I'm telling you, I'm dark-skinned and totally avoid red and pink, this doesn't fit: I go for plums, browns, bronze.... Nothing too light.
pink might be a little too light for you and will possibly make you look washed out. a bright red will look really good with your skin type
I always think something that's bright looks so great when you're black. I like to see oranges especially.....
NEUTRALS ARE THE KEY
I think that neutral lip glosses are best, but either red or pink can work, depending on your own lip color. Different lip colors yield different results. If your lips are pink, the color will be brighter than if a darker tone. I use a brown lip liner to control the tint and blend it with the lip gloss or lipstick.
Im from australia, and i think this colour would look really nice on you, it's called Revlon pearl 457 wild orchid, it's a rich reddish pink, at least have a look at it when your walking through the make-up department, stay away from the pale lipsticks. All the best Amazon.
That would depend on how dark they are
neither. maybe more of like a bordeaux, burgundy ish looks nice.. it also depends on what skin tone you have exaclty. most pinks don't go that very well with dark dark skin. =]
see ur very lucky any lipstick goes well with ur tone
any color will look good as long as the tone is right for your skintone.

ask me how you can get free lipstick samples too, if you are interested.
I like to keep it kinda dark in browns with gold tones, if you want it lighter I wouldn't suggest anything lighter than coral. Try my favorite with just a shiny gloss that's natural!
You need to hit up the Fashion Fair lady at Hecths department store. They will make your face up for free in order to train you on what shade is best for your skin tone. We come in many different shades. The lipstick for your tone of skin has a specific number you'll need to learn about.
Check out the makeover feature at www.marykay.com/kfrench2006 and you can even email and she'll send you samples to try!!
I think you could wear either, depends on the shade and the look you're going for.
I have seen a lot of ads with black women wearing different shades of browns and deep plums. It was pretty, elegant, and didnt overdue it.
probably a lighter shade of pink
